Marc received his PhD in Agronomy from the in 1994, with a focus on crop physiology. Marc has been a faculty member at the since 1994, where he currently is the Dooley Professor of Horticulture. His career has focused on the development of sustainable and cost-effective greenhouse production methods. Much of his earlier research focused on irrigation and fertilization, but in the past few years, his work has shifted towards the use of LEDs for supplemental lighting. He has published 120+ scientific papers and has given talks to scientists and growers all over the world.

In his spare time, Marc loves to work in his garden and to play soccer.
